Rafting on the Colorado River While Camping at Ami's Acres

When perfect, sunny weather and refreshing (well, if 50 degrees sounds refreshing) water temperatures combine in Glenwood Springs, consider booking an adventurous and gorgeous trip on the Colorado River.









We did and were very pleased with the entire experience. Our guide, Sonny, who just happened to be a fellow Louisiana native, was thorough, reassuring, knowledgeable, and so much fun!  

We arrived a bit early and were greeted by wonderful people and a few furry pals. As we enjoyed a snack and downtime before heading out, Cannon made a new friend. This may not seem like much to most, but considering he is not usually fond of the canine variety, it was a big deal.





Once briefed and suited with PFDs, we loaded up with a few new friends and were off to the drop-off point.

We were able to drive right on over to this amazing whitewater rafting outfit while parked at a great campground offering a mountain view.















Bonuses included frequent train sightings right from the window as they wrapped around the mountain along the river and precious little creatures coming around to say hi.















Although the time had come to move on, it is highly unlikely we'll ever forget our time spent in Glenwood Springs!

  We are back for a stay on the bayou.  Home, for the time being, is the Picou Farm.🐎🐔🌱 We have been graciously welcomed to park and stay a while, and it feels like we never left😊 We don't keep our windows closed much lately as we might miss out on the sounds provided by the farm. Enjoying A New England Smorgasburg Of Adventure As Our Time Here Winds Down

  It has now been over three months since our arrival in Bethel, Maine, and we are scrambling to see more of New England before trekking  southward.  With our last month shaping up to be one hopefully filled with tons of leaf peeping excitement, we'd like to focus on what August brought our way.  We enjoyed a drive to and around Portsmouth with emphasis on all things nautical. While partaking in this area, there was much to be learned. One very important fact realized is that Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is actually located in Kittery, Maine  near  Portsmouth, NH. Being new to the area (well, Kendra and Cannon being new to it, that is), this all proved to be a bit confusing at first as our daytrip took us there before venturing to Portsmouth for a walk through Prescott Park and seeing these views of the Navy Yard from across the Piscataqua River. ?????????????????????? A Little More of Maine's Coast in Ogunquit

  To soak in some hard to beat ocean views, we headed to Ogunquit for a stroll along the path known as Marginal Way. The drive in the downtown area, before the featured walk, took us past many charming shops and restaurants while the fresh sea air mystique of Maine was abundant. Considering we are staying well inland this summer, these coastal excursions provide a different experience  altogether. Once we parked and made our way to the entrance of this unmatched path, it was hard to put the camera away. It seemed every step proved to be another photo op as we encountered the many views provided.
