The Backstory

We didn't end up in an RV by chance or one day just wake up in a campground or [YIKES] 😧randomly on the open highway. To take you back.......way, waaaayyy back, we'll go to the 80's. We (Nick(y) and Kendra) met in Galliano, LA at "da" 308 😉😂 in 1987. {Our family and friends down "da"bayou will surely get a chuckle here.😁}  Fast forward 22 years with us.  Skipping ahead due to the fact that no one needs or wants to hear all of that personal info again is needed. I guarantee it!  We are now in 2009. How'd that happen? Well, suffice it to say people make choices, and God really does honor loyalty. He also really does make beauty from ashes. The year 2009 finds two people reunited but more importantly, learning how powerful God is, how he continuously does work on people who truly desire to be worked on, and how difficult hardheaded humans really can be. Those last couple of sentences also sum up the journey from 2009 to 2023. We've jumped another 14 years just like that! 😏

Now we'll get to how we ended up living fulltime, traveling in an RV.

Although we can be somewhat impulsive  spontaneous characters, we certainly did not just one day say, "Hey, let's sell everything and live in an RV!". We thought long and hard and were drawn to (and even passionate about) this for some six or so years before it became a reality. We dreamed about it, planned, and downsized long before reality hit. We watched video after video for the fun of it and prayed we were not coveting as we enjoyed the adventures of other families who were already living it out. We shared it all with our family and friends. We were absolutely sure that it would happen one day. We just knew it!

In the meantime, we became fierce warriors (weekend warriors to be exact). As we "weekended" we became more and more knowledgeable about RV's and how living fulltime in one was totally doable.  We researched work camping and even joined Workamper News to get a head start on this "working your way through fulltime RV life" thing. Then, along came 2021 with the final pushes out of sticks and bricks and into the RV.   After many difficulties, the end of that year led us to the road for a 2 month, 18 state adventure. This trip revealed to us a stronger desire than ever to do this thing. It was a huge test, a sort of final exam, and the results were in! The grade was an A+ 100%!

As 2022 made it all even clearer, we secured the first work camping position in a beautiful North Carolina campground (Thank you Workamper.com!!), donated the last few boxes of stuff, and, by May, even before the closing on the house was complete, were on our way.

Our journey has just begun. We are newbies. Only God knows for sure how long we'll be doing this. But, one thing we know, without a doubt, is that we love it more each and every day. Home really is "where we park it"!!
