Mount Rainier & North Cascades

Image
As Washington State continued to captivate us, we were introduced to a few more of its gems.  Did we continue on to get up close and personal with an active volcano? We sure did! Known as a sleeping giant to most volcanologists, this one boasts a snowy peak that sits 2.7 miles above sea level.  It comes as no surprise that it had us in awe. Mount Rainier National Park, show us your beauty! Why stop now? The Evergreen State is not holding back! Here comes North Cascades National Park!! But if we must be perfectly honest, it was not the easiest to get to. We may have  gotten what some would call lost. We called it the most beautiful big detour  we've experienced yet. We followed Little Miss GPS (Come on! You know her too!) to a place called Heather Meadows thinking we were on a fast track to North Cascades National Park. We exited the vehicle in utter amazement and were so happy about the detour. Here's what our eyes were treated to next. Just when you'd think you were done

Owen Rose Garden -Eugene, OR

Image
Calling all rose garden fans! This one boasts over 400 varieties.  If it were possible, aroma-detecting abilities would be included with this entry. ☺ Eight and a half acres of elegance is definitely one way to describe this garden next to Oregon's Willamette River in Eugene. We delighted in the moments spent surrounded by 4,500+ roses.  A bonus found itself in the Oregon Heritage Cherry Tree. It's not every day one gets to see 49 feet of cherry tree splendor especially in one that is over 175 years old.  Cannon's interest and enthusiasm was contagious as he took in the different aromas while asking about the name tags provided. Much effort and commitment have been dedicated to this wonderful place. The many varieties of roses are labeled for all to learn and enjoy.  Thanks for joining us on this relaxing and charming tour.  See you next time🌸

Olympic National Park

Image
What kind of "Hello! Welcome to Olympic National Park" would make our day?  Definitely!! It would be one from a mule deer sharing the road with us today! Wow! Here it is. Just be careful to let him own the road before proceeding😊   As we continued, bent on scoring a well-rounded view of the park's different regions, we drove to Hurricane Ridge for these unmatched meadow and forest sights.  While on the way to rainforest amazement, Lake Crescent graced us with its beauty and a surprise bald eagle passing through just as I decided to go to video mode👀 Upon entering the mossy wonderland below, we began to grasp just how much diversity Olympic National Park rightfully claims. We're certainly not done yet! On to Ruby Beach, shall we? Yes indeed! Washington State, you do have it all! It's time for a whiff of seashore goodness and shoes filled with sand as we steadily make our way through a driftwood obstacle course🐚🌅 This does conclude our tour.  But stay tuned j
