Jekyll Island, GA

This popular tourist destination in Southern Georgia is one of the state's four barrier islands.

As we visited the island, we set our sights on walks on stunning Driftwood Beach and the Horton House ruins.

After lingering a while on a captivating beach, we drove to this historic site displaying the oldest tabby ruins in the state of Georgia.

Horton House

We investigated the alluring remains of the home before stepping onto the trail leading to Horton Pond.

As I snapped this next shot of Cannon, he was pointing and informing us of the sight he was taking in. I can't say I immediately believed there was an alligator so close by.  As I took a look, I saw this sunbathing "beauty" then his buddy here giving us a nice view of himself in the pond. With the water so clear, we were certainly treated to a natural and serene aquatic life view.

Thanks for sitting a while to join us in our day on fabulous Jekyll Island๐Ÿ˜Š
