Lexington, KY Serving Up Exciting Learning Opportunities

  While The Horse Capital of the World is obviously a great place to learn about everything equestrian related, we found the following two places of interest just as absorbing. Join us as we dive into these history lessons hidden in intriguing field trips. This tribute to the Bluegrass state and its involvement in many amazing flight related contributions includes a walk through the Kentucky Aviation Hall of Fame and an opportunity to sit just outside of the museum doors and closely observe planes flying in and out of the airport. As thrilling as this is, it only scratches the surface. From information on very early pursuits in flight to major military achievements, there are loads to discover while spending time at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky. While turning over stones in Lexington, we visited the Mary Todd Lincoln House for a close look at this 1860's first lady. North American Championship Rodeo

  Featuring bareback riding, bull riding, roping, barrel racing, and more, this is one amazing show sure to make a rodeo fan of even the least expected!  Add trick riding, lasso shows, and laser  lights for an evening without a dull moment in sight! Blackacre Nature Preserve and the North American International Livestock Exposition

  With more than 250 acres to share, Blackacre State Nature Preserve features an 18th century homestead, opportunities to feed horses and goats, hiking trails, and much more.  These boys were so excited to offer up carrot after carrot to their hungry pals.  And now we head to the Kentucky Exposition Center to walk among many prize-winning farm animals as they are looking their best and ready to show what they're made of. After getting a taste of what the North American International Livestock Exposition has to offer, we decided we have to return to Freedom Hall for the Championship Rodeo.
